True or False. Answer until you drop. 3 lives only.
How it works
- · Read the sentence. Is it grammatically correct (TRUE) or wrong (FALSE)?
- · Build streaks for bonus points
- · You have only 3 lives — choose wisely!
You're out!
How Grammar Survival helps you learn English
Grammar Survival flips the traditional quiz format: instead of choosing from options, you see a complete sentence and decide if it's grammatically correct (TRUE) or contains an error (FALSE). This tests a deeper skill — error detection — which is what fluent speakers actually use when proofreading and listening.
When the sentence is FALSE, you see the corrected version and an explanation of the error. This makes every wrong answer a focused grammar lesson. The rapid-fire pacing creates productive pressure that trains your instincts rather than your deliberate reasoning.
The survival mechanic — three lives, lose one per error — makes every game feel meaningful. Your streak counter rewards accuracy, and the score system with streak bonuses gives you a clear goal to chase each session.
Tips for each CEFR level
Whether you're just starting or already advanced, here's how to get the most out of Grammar Survival.
Read each sentence slowly before answering. At A1, errors are usually in basic verb forms (he go → he goes) or articles (a apple → an apple).
Listen for 'something feels off' — at A2, you've absorbed enough English to feel errors before you can explain them. Trust that instinct.
When you're unsure, ask yourself: 'Would a native speaker say this?' Wrong sentences at B1 often have correct words in the wrong grammatical role.
Slow down on longer sentences. B2 errors often hide in the middle of a complex sentence — pay attention to agreement between subject and verb across a clause.
At C1, errors are subtle: a missing article, the wrong modal, a slightly off preposition. These are harder to spot precisely because they're almost correct.
C2 Grammar Survival tests your feel for stylistic correctness, not just grammatical rules. Some errors at this level are technically possible but unnatural.
